Obituary for Alvin Fust

In loving memory of Alvin Fust born in Eugienfeld Ukraine March 5th 1940. Al and his family immigrated to the US after WWII in 1952 to Texas and a few years later moved to Detroit. Al met his wife Helen while attending high school at Lutheran High West. After high school Al was the first in his family to go to college and went to Ferris State and then into the US Air Force where he repaired B52 bombers and then transferred into the ICBM Titan II missile program in a four man combat crew where Al was the MFT. Helen and Al married in 1962. After leaving the Air Force in 1969 Al and Helen moved to Michigan and settled in Walled Lake with their 3 boys Ed, Kevin and Scott. Al joined the Air Force reserve in 1976 and retired in 1990. Al always flew an American flag and he was very proud to be an American. Al was very active in the community, he was a member of the Jaycees, coached little league baseball and was instrumental in starting the soccer program at Walled Lake Western high school where he coached the teams. Al retired from GM as a journeyman machine repair in 2001. He loved golfing, hunting, camping, traveling and wood working. Al had 3 grandchildren Alexander, Lucas and Shannon and loved spending time with them and the rest of his family.

Al is preceded in death by his parents Eduard and Tamara Fust. Brother Eduard (Sharron) and sister Tamara Milostan (Ron), children Ed (Kathy), Kevin (Treacy), Scott, grandchildren Alexander, Lucas and Shannon and missed by Hazel Plumber (Richard) and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Christ Lutheran Church, 620 General Motors Road, Milford. Visitation will be from 9 AM - 11 AM at the church. Interment with Military Honors in Commerce Memorial Cemetery.
