Obituary for Arnold Walter Schonsheck

Arnold Walter Schonsheck of Farmington Hills was born March 20, 1931 in Taylor, Michigan to Walter and Luella (nee: Sell) Schonsheck. He died December 23, 2020 at the age of 89.

Mr. Schonsheck is the beloved husband of 69 years to the late Monna Lee (nee: Moran) Schonsheck. Loving father of Michael (Joyce) Schonsheck, Ian (Lori) Schonsheck, Kevin Schonsheck and Kathleen (Brad) Hildreth. Grandfather of Amy (Travis), Devin (Kathleen), Tyler (Monique), Matthew (Christie), Krista (Kevin), Kevin (Natalie), Tonia (Jason) and Kory (Lauren). Also 11 great grandchildren. Brother of Doris (Walter) Reik, Laura (the late Charles) Palyok, Darold (Sondra) Schonsheck and the late Wilbur (Amy) Schonsheck. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Mr. Schonsheck met his wife Monna while the two worked at Wyandotte Chemical. Later, Mr. Schonsheck went into automobile sales where he worked until 1975. He and his wife Monna purchased Nomad Motel in Daytona Beach Shores and together they owned and operated the Nomad until they retired. He had a generous spirit both with his church and various other charities, including serving in Kiwanis many years. He was a “golf-a-holic” and truly loved playing the game. He was very competitive. He even shot a hole in one at age 84!

Private family services will be held. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Park.
