Obituary for Ava Gianna Giovannini

Ava Gianna Giovannini was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on December 5, 2019, the daughter of Richard John Lowery and Kimberly Ann Giovannini. She died August 31, 2020 at the age of 8 months.

Ava is survived by her parents Rich and Kim. She is granddaughter of Gayle Giovannini, George Richard Giovannini, Sheara (Kevin) Hall. Dear niece of Jennifer Lynn (Chris Moran) Giovannini and Michael Giovannini.

Against many odds, Ava was born and survived in the NICU at Motts. She suffered many health issues and had multiple surgeries, procedures and testing.  At 4 months of age, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder and had a very poor prognosis. This meant her stay at the hospital would end, and she finally came home through hospice care. Ava was then able to live at home and have the best life possible for as long as she could.  She was called "Little Fighter" and survived longer than expected in the comfort of home being cared for by her mother and father for 5 months. She decided she didn't want to fight anymore. She gave her parents the best she could and more, and when she was too tired to continue to fight, she passed in the comfort of the loving arms of her mother and father.

A memorial service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at MSU Tollgate Farm,(The gathering will take place at the pavilion.
