Obituary for Gerald "Jerry" Delbert Beagle

Gerald (Jerry) Delbert Beagle, a lifelong resident of Commerce Township, passed away September 5th, 2020 at his home with Mary, his long-time companion, at his side. He was 79 years old.

Jerry was born in Highland Park on August 14, 1941 to Harold and Irma Beagle, the youngest of 10 children.

He graduated from Walled Lake Central High School in 1960 and worked for his Father’s business, H. Beagle Excavating. In 1963, Jerry joined the Army and served for 3 years in Vietnam. While there, he worked as a bulldozer operator and was located on the front lines.
After returning home from the War, Jerry rejoined the family business working with his brothers. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed the outdoors and in particular, bow and gun hunting. Jerry was a lifetime member of Multi-Lakes Conservation Club and at one point was Slingshot Club Champion.

In his later years, Jerry worked for Long’s Orchard in Commerce Township doing a variety of general farm work. He enjoyed his time there.

Jerry was blessed with good health for the great majority of his life. He suffered a heart attack in June and declined rapidly in health over the past several months. Jerry’s passing leaves a void in the heart of many family and friends and he will be greatly missed.

Jerry is survived by his companion, Mary Charlotte St Louis, his sisters Marilyn (Ron) Koshorek and Shirley (George) Wilson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irma, by his brothers Howard, Glenn, Robert, and Richard and by his sisters Erma, Phyllis, and Rhea.

A private funeral service will be held Monday, September 14th, 2020 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Milford, Michigan.
