Obituary for Jacqueline Ann Vosie (Shippy)

Jacqueline Ann Vosie (Shippy) of Commerce Township, formerly of Marco Island, Florida was born July 5, 1938 in Detroit, Michigan to Hubert C. and Evelyn (nee: Cook) Riggs. She died April 6, 2016 at the age of 77.

Mrs. Vosie is the beloved wife of 40 years to Thomas Vosie. Loving mother of Jeannie (Craig) Couture, Julie “Jill” (Bob) Gray, John Shippy, Jr., Joe “Giuseppe” (Shari) Shippy, and Jenny Shippy Papiak. Dear step mother of Kim (Tom) Coral and Debbie (Scott) Wylie. Grandmother of Todd (Keri), Danae (Dave), Chad, Ryan, Aaron, Bobbie Julia, Ashley, Austin, Alleia, Andrea, Adam, Max, Mitch, Aleigha, Andrew, Mike, Austin, Brooke and Brandi and the late Jake. Great grandmother of Cayden, Colton, Cody, Kiera, Navi, Adrian, Oscar, Wells, Blakely, the late Olivia and the late Courage. Dear sister of Elgie Zerod, the late Maritta Riggs and the late Larry “Butch” (Gilberta) Riggs. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, very dear cousins, extended family members and friends.

Mrs. Vosie was a Licensed Builder, she loved to dance and rollerskate. She was a prankster and loved a good joke. She was very active in Church (1st Baptist of Naples) and was a witness for Christ. When Jackie saw strangers she wouldn't let an opportunity pass without sharing the news of salvation, also serving as a missionary with her husband Tom in both the U.S. and Haiti. They also had a Jesus film ministry providing " Free night at the movies" showing the message of salvation in Christ, reaching thousands
throughout the Hispanic community around the Naples, Fl. area. She always had a smile in life and even in her last days the smile remained. Her greatest love were Christ and her family.

Funeral from Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 4800 Orchard Lake Rd, West Bloomfield, Thursday, April 21, 4 PM. Friends may visit Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 340 N. Pontiac Trail Walled Lake (3 Blks. S. of Maple Rd.) Wednesday, April 20th from 3-8 PM and at the church Thursday 3 PM until time of service. Memorial dinner to follow at the church following the funeral service.
