Obituary for Jane W. Sturm

Jane W. Sturm of Novi, formerly of Ann Arbor and Bloomfield Hills, was born December 25, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas to Theodore Edward and Genevieve Elizabeth (nee: Munn) White. She died August 3, 2019 at the age of 90.

Mrs. Sturm is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Martin Sturm (d. 2001). Loving mother of Randy (Linda) Sturm, Shelley (Dr. William) Lawler, Karla (Lee) Griffith. Grandmother of Katie Lawler, Will (Jeanise) Lawler, Lindsay (Damon) Yasseri, Mallory (David) Fuentes, Andrea (Adam) Calor, Allison Lawler, Jessica (James Schoenfield) Sturm, and Heather Sturm. Great grandmother of Liam, Grace and Hadley.

Mrs. Sturm attended Westminster College where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa Sorority. She met her husband Joseph at a dance in Detroit that was sponsored by the Chrysler Corporation. The married shortly thereafter and moved to Ann Arbor where the began their family. They later relocated to Bloomfield Hills where she was president of the Birmingham Newcomers Club and president of the Birmingham Senior Women’s Club where she enjoyed planning mystery trips. Her greatest love was playing Bridge where she became a Silver Life Master. Most recently she enjoyed making new friends at Fox Run Senior Living Community in Novi and was thrilled to welcome 3 precious great grandchildren within the last year.

Private family interment will take place with her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan at a later date.
