Joan May Downing was born March 30th, 1930 to parents Wilfred and Hazel in Detroit Michigan. Our Mom passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021. Joan grew up as an only child. She worked at Great Scott Grocery store headquarters as an accountant for 17 years. She also was a nanny in her 50's and continued til she was 78. She loved to play tennis, volunteer at the hospital lending book program, and spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved son Mark. Surviving are her eldest son, Del and his wife Paula, Jeff and his son Joe, Paul and his wife Dawn, and her daughter Julie. She was Nana to Sara, Troy, Katie, Neil, Joey, Brett, Ryan, Daniel, Lauren, and Sean. Her great grandchildren include Landon and Graham.
