Obituary for Joanie Louise Hughes-Wozny

Joanie Louise (Hughes) Wozny passed away peacefully Saturday 12-16-2017 with her loving family by her side at home in Wixom Michigan. Joanie was born in Brooklyn New York on 1-3-1960, the daughter of Raphael and Joan (Brehm) Hughes. Joanie grew up in Hazlet New Jersey graduating from St. John Vianney High School in Holmdel New Jersey then she attended & graduated from West Virginia University in Morgantown West Virginia with a BA in Physical Education. Preceded in death by: parents Joan in 1999, Raphael in 2007, brother Steve in 2015, Aunt Catherine (Hughes) Moser, and Uncles Harold, Thomas & William Brehm. Survived by; loving husband of 33 + years Frank (formerly of Windber Pennsylvania), their children: son Frank & wife Teri (Burt) Wozny with grandchildren Paige Joan & Frank Gregory in Hartland Michigan, daughter Kimberly (Wozny) & husband Jeremy Cheaney with grandchildren Ava Madelyn, Patrick Raphael, Charlotte Louise, & Grace Elizabeth in Hartland, son Matthew & wife Jenna (Schiavi) Wozny in Northville Michigan, sister in law Diane (Langlier) Hughes with niece Andrea Goulet & Noah Doran with son Grayson in Maine, nephew Sean Hughes & fiancé Danielle in Mechanicsville Maryland, sister in law Penney (Brackett) Hughes in Texas, brother Christopher & wife Michelle (Durski) Hughes with nephews Christopher, Reilly, Liam & Shayne in Howell New Jersey, brother Brian & wife Christine (LaBianca) with nephews Brian, Thomas & Michael in Freehold New Jersey, brother in law Dave & wife Cathy (Tallyen) Wozny in Windber, Pennsylvania with nephew David in Florida, niece Heather Wozny in Windber, sister in law Mary Ann (Wozny) & husband Gerald Mickel in Chambersburg Pennsylvania with nephews Clayton & Daniel Mickel in Windber, brother in law John Wozny & wife Holly in Windber, sister in law Nancy Paseba in Windber, nieces Nicole Wozny in Nanty Glo Pennsylvania, Amber Wozny in Johnstown Pennsylvania, nephew Jacob Wozny in Windber, special Aunt Bernadette Brehm with cousins: Felicia (Brehm) Kunze & husband Joe with family in Neptune New Jersey, Cynthia (Brehm) King & husband Steve in Morristown New Jersey, special Aunt Pat Nash & husband Richard in Fullerton California with cousins Heidi (Brehm) Keggy & husband Greg with their family in Wrightwood California, Cheryl (Brehm) Ronbeck & husband Pete with family in Kirkland Washington, special Aunt Betty (Hancharick) & son Robert Spaid in Portage, Pennsylvania, special Aunt Irene (Hancharick) DiPangrazio in Strongsville Ohio with cousins Sharon (DiPangrazio) & husband Todd Lenhardt with family in Medina Ohio, cousin Lori (DiPangrazio) Hlucky & husband Emil with family in Brunswick Ohio, Uncle Richard and wife Mary Brehm with cousins in LaCrescenta Californiia, Cousins; Mike & wife Miriam Moser in Perth Amboy New Jersey, Cathy (Moser) Hillblom & husband Gerry & family in Manahawkin New Jersey, Paul Moser & wife Beverly (Brustowicz) & family in Toms River New Jersey, Robert Moser & wife Teri (Sawers) Moser & family in Toms River, also special caregiver Donna Koolthong in Commerce Michigan. Joanie loved being a mother & grandmother and enjoyed life with her family to the fullest. She was involved in all aspects of their lives including being a long time Walled Lake Braves cheerleading coach & booster, long time Walled Lake Western High School football booster and party planner for family and others. Her working career included working at American Blinds & Wallpaper in Plymouth Michigan. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be 1-5-2018 10AM @ St. Williams Catholic Church in Walled Lake Michigan followed by a luncheon to celebrate her life @ One Under Banquet Hall in Livonia Michigan. All funeral arrangements were provide by Lynch & Sons in Walled Lake.
