Obituary for Lee Morris

Leslie Anthony Morris, lovingly known as Lee, was born April 9,1946 in Trenton, Michigan to James Leslie Morris and Anna Margaret Morris nee Bader. Lee was the seventh and final child for Les and Anna. He would jokingly tell friends and family that his brother Tom was an accident, but he was planned so that Tom would have a playmate. Lee and Tom got into all the good natured trouble farm boys could: jumping off the pole barn to see if they could fly, riding horses bareback while jousting with tree branches and trash can lids as shields, and even a little mishap with a stray bullet that hit their mother's ice box. Farm life gave Lee a love for animals and nature. When he graduated from Taylor Center High School, he was headed to college to become a veterinarian, but was drafted by the United States Army before he had the chance. Lee served in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry and received several commendations for bravery, including the Purple Heart.

When Lee came back to the States he married Gail Johnson. From this union, his beloved daughter Taleah was born. Gail and Lee parted ways, some years later. Lee began a career in auto sales and worked with his brother at Dick Morris Chevrolet for over 40 years. It was there that he met the love of his life, Nadeen. Lee and Nadeen both had a love of nature, dancing, and basking in the sun. They married on June 21, 1979. From this union, their beloved son Tony was born. Lee, Nadeen, Taleah and Tony spent many happy weekends camping Up North in Hisperia, riding motorcycles and quads with family. Lee loved traveling, playing the slot machines, and taking care of all things green on his property. He told us that as a child, his mother took him and his brother Tom to church every Sunday, but his father did not go. He said that his father explained that he didn't find God in a church; his God was in nature, in the grass and the trees, in the flowers and fields around him. Lee shared that belief.

After a long battle with COPD, multiple myeloma and congenital heart failure, Lee passed away peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 40 years, Nadeen, his daughter Taleah (Paul) LaFramboise, his son Tony (Tiffany) Morris, his three grandsons: Daniel, Christopher and Rowan Morris, his best buddies and brother and sister-n-law Jack and Myrtle Callahan, brother-in-law Mike Gibbs, and brother and sister-in-law Bill and Judy Peters. Lee also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Les and Anna Morris, his siblings: Barbara (Ken) Eagle, Garnet Morris, MaryAnn (Jim) Perry, James Morris, Richard Morris, and Thomas Morris.

The Morris family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, November 21, 2019 from 11-4:30 pm, concluding with a service at 4: 30 pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 N. Pontiac Trail in Walled Lake.
