Obituary for Stanley F. Novaco

Stan Novaco of Fox Run, Novi, Michigan, passed away on January 8, 2021 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Addie. They raised two children together, daughter Beth (Jerry) Grula of Phoenix, AZ and Richard (Michelle) of Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is survived by brother Alan (Pam) of Pasadena, MD, sister Elena Derbique of Indianapolis, IN, and multiple nieces and nephews. He took great pride spending time with family and his grandchildren: Adam, Meredith, and Valerie Grula of Phoenix, AZ, and Joe and Spencer Novaco of Bloomfield Hills, MI. He is well loved by many friends including a social group, the “Ozem’s” which was established at Stan’s 39th birthday party.
He and Addie lived in Dearborn Heights for 25 years before retiring to Kiawah Island, SC and later Vero Beach, FL, while avoiding the summer heat in Boyne City and Cedarville, MI. They recently moved to Novi, MI. Stan is a graduate of Lafayette College, Easton, PA and held an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh. He is a proud member of Delta Tau Delta. He worked as a Systems Analyst at Ford Motor Company for 30 years, starting at the dawn of the computer age in 1962.
After retirement, he volunteered his technology skills to help friends of all ages learn to email and surf the internet safely and securely, and he worked with his neighborhood associations on their networks and newsletters. Always social, he organized the “Friday Night Get-Togethers” in Riverwind at Vero Beach. An avid lover of the water, he boated his entire life, racing from Port Huron to Mackinac, cruising Lake St. Clair, and tubing in Les Cheneaux Islands with all his grandchildren including his “honorary granddaughter” Aimee.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Angela Hospice at or Great Lakes Boat Building School in Cedarville, MI at
