Obituary for Starr Eric Booth

Booth, Starr Eric age 84 of Commerce Township was born February 19, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to Reginald Starr and Olive E. (nee: Hackett) Booth. He died October 15, 2019 at the age of 84.

Mr. Booth is the beloved husband of 57 years to Nancy Anne (nee: Gotham) Booth. Loving father of Sue (Tim) Baglow, Scott (Beth) Booth, Steve (Kristin) Booth and his late infant dauther Sandra Booth. Dear grandfather of Ryan (Britney) Baglow, Austin (Rachel) Baglow, Hannah Booth, Megan Booth, Laken Booth and Skylar Booth. Great grandfather of Olive Baglow. Brother of John (the late Carolyn) Booth, James (the late Judy) Booth, Dan (Betty) Booth and the late Dollie Booth Spencer. Brother in law of Kathy (the late Jeff) Snarey and David (the late MaryAnn) Gotham. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends who he loved dearly.

Eric attended Walled Lake Schools and graduated Wayne State university with a degree in civil engineering. He began work for ANR Pipeline in 1956 in natural gas pipeline and transportation. He retired in 1993 but spent 10 years consulting for a northern Michigan contractor.

Eric was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, registered in Michigan and Louisiana. He entered the Army after college in the critical skills area. He was honorably discharged to return to work in the critical pipeline/natural gas industry. He was a lifetime member of Multilakes Conservation Association teaching archery and children for 40 years. They awarded him with the Walter Horstman Meritorious Service Award for his contributions to Multilakes.

Eric loved archery and bow hunting, teaching his sons and spent many seasons at Beaver Lake Hunt Club with them and other family members. He loved his “little cabin” in the woods and the family enjoyed Thanksgiving there for over 14 years.

He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church serving on the Board of Education for many years, ushering, helping construct classrooms as the school grew. He loved his Lord and Savior and was a man of faith.
